New: reach at a glance. Both devices now show how far the connection reaches, live, measured by small round-trip probes between them. Wander through the house and you see the link getting thin before it drops, not after.
Also new: LIL1 is accessible to every parent. VoiceOver, Voice Control, text that scales to the largest sizes, reduced motion, and state never shown by color alone, all supported throughout the app and declared on the App Store.
As always, everything stays between your two devices. No cloud, no server, nothing to leak.

New: push-to-talk. Hold the talk button on the parent device and your voice plays on the baby unit, so a few calm words can settle your little one before you walk over. Release, and you are listening again.
You can talk from the listening screen or straight from the video view. And the baby unit stays in charge: allow or turn off talking anytime in its settings, and choose how loud your voice plays.
As always, everything stays between your two devices. No cloud, no server, nothing to leak.

Fixed: when the app was force-quit during a monitoring session, the Live Activity could keep showing in the Dynamic Island even though nothing was running anymore. It now clears itself the next time the app starts.
The Live Activity (Dynamic Island and Lock Screen) is now fully localized in German, Spanish, and French.

Pairing is more reliable: if a connection attempt stalls, LIL1 now quietly retries with a fresh connection before showing an error.
Clearer messages when connecting: the app now tells a wrong PIN apart from a connection that simply didn't complete, and tells you what helps (usually moving the devices closer together).
New tip while reconnecting: the same Wi-Fi network on both devices improves range.
VoiceOver now announces when a pairing attempt fails.

Brighter video in dark rooms: the camera automatically takes in more light when the nursery goes dark.
Dim the baby unit's screen remotely from the parent device, and wake it again.
New permission check on the home screen: see at a glance whether local network, microphone and camera, and Live Activities are set up, and fix what's missing.
You can now rate LIL1 straight from the menu.
